About the Connecticut Stars
The Connecticut Stars is one of the nation's premier girls' ice hockey organizations. Starting with one 19 & Under team in 1991, Stars Hockey now has more than 80 girls skating on five teams, including Tier I teams at the 12 & Under, 14 & Under, 16 & Under and 19 & Under levels and a Tier II team at the 14 & Under level. At the heart of Stars Hockey is its Founder, Moe Tarrant, who has been our primary source of inspiration and leadership for almost 20 years.
Stars Hockey attracts and develops student athletes who can successfully compete at the National level. We are proud of our record and of how Stars Hockey can lead to broader educational opportunities for our players. One of our core objectives is helping all Stars players achieve academic success in high school, boarding school and college.
The Connecticut Stars program is open to all girl ice hockey players living in or attending boarding schools in Connecticut. It is a member of the Connecticut Hockey Conference, an affiliate of USA Hockey.
The program is supported by Stars Hockey, Inc., a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Among other objectives, Stars Hockey, Inc. supports the Connecticut Stars program by seeking donations to defer the costs of the program and to underwrite scholarships for qualified players in financial need.
